Looking over Ballachulish Bridge to the Pap of Glencoe, it is a further fifteen miles to Kinlochleven at the head of the loch.
Ballachulish Bridge opened in 1975 and replaced a ferry service that had crossed the narrows of Loch Leven for nearly 250 years. The name Ballachulish comes from the Gaelic for 'Village of the Narrows'.
